Two Purple Heart Veterans. One Houston Community. The Time to Help Is Now.
Jeff P. and Jeff A. served this country with honor. Right now they need their community to serve them.
Donate NowTwo local men. Two real crises. One chance to step up.
An Infantryman who fought for this country in Iraq.
Jeff Ardoin enlisted in Houston and served as an Infantryman in the United States Army. He deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and earned the Purple Heart and the Combat Infantryman Badge before receiving an honorable discharge in 2008.
Years after his service ended, Jeff is now homeless and working to secure stable housing. He has found a place to live. He needs $5,000 for the deposit and first month's rent to lock it in before the opportunity disappears.
He took a bullet in Iraq so his soldiers wouldn't have to.
SSG Jeff Pickard served 15 and a half years across the Navy and Army. On April 20, 2010 in Kirkuk, Iraq, he was shot in the left shoulder while securing his platoon. He spent three years relearning how to use his arm. He medically retired in 2013 with a 100% disability rating and moved his family to Houston to serve other veterans.
Today an unforeseen family medical emergency has cut the household income in half. Jeff is now carrying everything on a fixed retirement income that was never built to stretch this far.
